KUALA LUMPUR– Independent badminton player Lee Zii Jia is set to return to the Academy Badminton Malaysia (ABM) to train for the upcoming Badminton Asia Team Championships (BATC) which is slated to begin next week at the Setia City Convention Centre in Shah Alam.

This comes as a surprise for many given the weeks of controversy that ensued after he announced his decision to leave the national team.

BAM secretary general Datuk Kenny Goh confirmed to New Straits Times of Zii Jia’s return to ABM.

He is still representing the country and the BATC is a team event, so we offered him to train with us.

Line-up for Badminton Asia Team Championships

Zii Jia will be heading the men’s singles team followed by Ng Tze Yong, Aidil Sholeh Ali Sadikin, Leong Jun Hao, Lim Chong King and Jacky Kok Jing Hong.

Meanwhile in the men’s doubles, it includes Olympic bronze medalists Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani and Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun.
