Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has explained his decision to play Alex Telles as a winger against Brighton.
The fullback came on in the latter stages of the Red Devils' 2-0 win over the Albion in midweek, replacing Jadon Sancho.
Telles helped to ensure Brighton did not nick an equalizer on the counter attack, with Tariq Lamptey a particular threat.
"Their right side with Lamptey was the dangerous side. Lamptey was playing up front, almost as a winger in the last 10-15 minutes," Rangnick explained in his press conference, when asked about his substitution.
"That is why we decided to bring on Alex Telles - to support Luke Shaw on that side."
