A local English-language radio station is getting bombarded by critics after it featured a controversial personality on its social media platforms, mainly Instagram.

Fans of the Fly FM radio station are not pleased that a Valentine’s date with Malaysian model Siew Pui Yi, also known as Ms PuiYi, is the prize of a giveaway.

“Comment down below and let me know what would you do to go on a date with me,” she could be heard saying in the short clip. The caption also promoted her new song, Men-mory, which is being played on the radio.

Critics say Ms PuiYi is not a suitable personality to be featured on national radio due to her risqué image.

“You are a national radio station followed by people of all ages, why are you promoting such an indecent figure?” an Instagram user commented.

Ms PuiYi is known for her work as a model in the adult entertainment industry. Last month, she put the nation on the map when she became the first Malaysian to be featured on the cover of Penthouse magazine, an adult lifestyle magazine.

“Young kids are following your page,” another user reiterated. One user said they “received a massive shock” when they viewed her profile.

Fly FM has since rewritten their caption to say that the winner of the giveaway will get a chance to “hang out” with Ms PuiYi and DJ Ryan Matjeraie on Monday, 14 Feb 2022, at the radio station in Bandar Utama.
