Graham Potter insists Brighton remain confident despite their recent form slump.
The Seagulls went down 2-0 at home to Aston Villa on Saturday, adding to recent losses to Manchester United and Burnley.
Potter said: "It's not necessarily about confidence. It's about quality, it's about luck. It's about lots of things.
"I don't think we were short of effort. Our intention was good.
"Maybe we lacked a bit of quality. The boys were keen to respond from the Burnley performance.
"(Saturday) was more like us and then you have to accept the result sometimes."
