Qarabag striker Ibrahima Wadji admits Matteo Guendouzi had an influence on his decision to insist his goal scored against Olympique Marseille be chalked off.

OM won the Europa Conference League clash 3-0 last night, with Wadji showing impressive sportsmanship by insisting to match officials his goal be disallowed after admitting he handled the ball.

And Wadji admits Marseille midfielder Guendouzi, on-loan from Arsenal, had a word with him as the decision was being considered.

He told RMC: "In fact the coach is a serious person, he doesn't like to cheat. It was difficult, because I knew that I had touched the ball with my hand. I told my captain and all my teammates that I touched him with my hand.

"The coach told me we don't need to score with the hand. You have to take your responsibilities. So I went to speak with the referee and he canceled the goal

"It was complicated for them (my teammates). They wanted victory. Guendouzi told me you are Muslim, if you don't tell the truth God will punish you (laughs)!"
