Manchester United are seriously considering bidding for Sporting CP midfielder Joao Palhinha.
The 26-year-old defensive midfielder is jumping to the top of United's summer wish list, along with Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips.
With the latter duo seen as tough to land from West Ham United or Leeds United, the Red Devils may view Palhinha as more attainable.
According to Portuguese outlet Record, they are serious about the player, and will likely pay well below his €60 million release clause.
For their part, Sporting are willing to negotiate, as they can use the money to refresh other areas of the team.
