Dyche's Clarets were forced to settle for a point against Roy Hodgson's Hornets.
He said, “Both teams have tried to play the conditions. I've been here a very long time and this is as bad as I've probably seen it, with the wind and the rain blowing everywhere, so that was hard in itself, we tried to take the game to them, but lost our way in the final 20 minutes of the first-half, and regained it in the second-half.
“We started well, but we took the game on in the second-half and tried to get on the front foot, we defended quite well in horrendous conditions for both sides.
“We tried to win the game of course, we kept the clean sheet so there's a positive, and we just need that cutting edge
On Maxwel Cornet and new signing Wout Weghorst, he added: “We've brought players back in and Maxwel has hardly played, Wout has just joined us, so that connection will be made quickly, and on a daily basis as well.
“He did fine, he had a couple of chances, and maybe when he gets sharper and more used to the tempo of the game, he'll take chances and start affecting the game, so that's pleasing.
“Maxwel has been away a long time, and his sharpness will come back."
