Kota Kinabalu: An illegal immigrant was charged at the Magistrate’s Court, Wednesday, with threatening to kill a woman.
Samrin Maiko was accused of criminally intimidating one Juliana Jurilin at 8.30pm on Feb 15 in a house at Kg Numbak, Jalan UMS here.
However, no plea was taken from Samrin, who appeared before Magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun via videoconference.
Inspector Kelvan Elson Maik, prosecuting applied for a new mention date and objected bail on the grounds that Samrin was without identification document.
The court fixed April 1 for a plea and ordered Samrin to be remanded further.
The charge is framed under Section 506 of the Penal Code.
Samrin was not represented.
Meanwhile, another man was charged with having someone else’s MyKad.
Al Aziz Kapuning allegedly had the document bearing the serial number 960806-12-6779 under the name of one Wilson Yabaram at 5.30pm on Jan 20 this year at a bridge at Kg Tanjung Aru Baru.
The charge under Section 25(1)(o) of the National Registration Regulations carries a jail term of up to three years or a fine of up to RM20,000 or both on conviction.
No plea was taken from Aziz after the charge was read to him via video link.
Kelvan in applying for a new date also objected to bail as the accused has no identification document.
The court set March 18 for mention and ordered Aziz to be further remanded.
