Man with machete arrested in Kuala Penyu

KUALA PENYU: A 47-year-old man, who was thought to be inebriated, was arrested for brandishing a machete in front of Kuala Penyu police station, here, Wednesday.

District Police Chief Yisoff Zaki Yaccob said the incident occurred at 11pm and the police had to be cautious as the suspect was armed with a long machete.

Meanwhile, Yusoff Zaki said three men, aged 43, 39 and 33, were arrested from a car parked on the side of a Kg Kota Klias road.

“This follows the discovery a straw with a clear crystalline substance suspected to be syabu weighing about 1.3 grammes.

“The suspects will be investigated under Sections 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act of 1952,” he added.

He also said a 30-year-old suspect was also arrested at an unnumbered house in Kg Rancangan Klias on the same day.

According to Yusoff Zaki, no items were recovered from him but his urine tested positive for Methamphetamine.

The suspect is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
