Two Sabahan Everest climbers collect state flag from Hajiji

Kota Kinabalu: Two Sabahans chosen to join a three-month expedition to conquer Mt Everest collected from the Chief Minister today the state flag to be flown on the summit.

Lt Kol (Civil Defence) Ag Iskandar Ampuan Yaacub, 55, from Kampung Benoni, Papar, is Director of the department in Kedah; while Ayu Wanirah Naharuddin, 30, from Kg Jawa, Tawau, works in Johor.

Ag Iskandar and Ayu Wanirah are among 11 individuals including instructors and disabled people chosen to take part in Misi Keluarga Malaysia Everest 2022 from March 26 until June.

Datuk Hajiji Noor had an opportunity to give words of encouragement to both Sabahans before handing them the flag, according to a statement.
