2,500 jobs on offer at SMJ event

Kota Kinabalu: There are more than 2,500 vacancies on offer in various sectors and industries in conjunction with the Sabah Maju Jaya Roadmap (HTSMJ) One Year celebration over three days at Kinabatangan II Hall, Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) starting today (March 28) from 9am till 5pm.

The SMJ One Year Showcase and the GIG-SMJ Career from March 28 to March 30 involves 28 exhibitors comprising ministries, departments, state and federal agencies, investor companies, oil and gas companies from 9am until 6pm.

It is organised by the Human Resource Development Department in collaboration with the Social Security Organisation (Socso).

The vacancies include project engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, graphic designers, human resource managers, takaful agents, spa consultants, clerks, account managers and marketing managers.

The event aims to showcase the achievements of the SMJ Roadmap initiative for a year.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor will launch the SMJ Annual Showcase and Career Gig, in conjunction with the Sabah Maju Jaya Roadmap Annual celebration, at SICC on March 29.

Among the employers are SK Nexilis Malaysia Sdn Bhd, SBH Kibing Solar New Materials (M) Sdn Bhd, Talent Suites Sdn Bhd, Kaizen Employment Agency Sdn Bhd, Petra Resources Sdn Bhd;

Adabi Consumer Industries Zarrich Empire Sdn Bhd, BTC Maju Holdings Sdn Bhd, Marriott Hotel, Sutera Harbor Resort, Allianz General Insurance Co (M) Bhd, Mosulu Construction & Engineering and Ibis Styles Hotel.

Visitors would also see the first robot owned by the Sabah Government in the ‘Meet and Greet Pepper’ event.

The public stand a chance to win lucky draw prizes during the three days.
