Standfirst: Lejayaan Dune menyapu kemenangan menerusi kategori bersifat teknikal di dalam BAFTA ini memang sudah dijangka.

Malam kemuncak Anugerah Filem Academy British (BAFTA) ke 75 yang berlangsung di Royal Albert Hall pada malam Ahad lalu (Isnin waktu tempatan) berjaya mengubati kekecewaan Dune apabila berjaya berjaya meraih lima anugerah menerusi 11 kategori pencalonan yang dipertandingkan.
Kelima-lima kategori tersebut adalah Rekaan Produksi Terbaik, Bunyi Terbaik , Kesan Khas Visual Terbaik, Skor Original Terbaik dan Sinematorafi Terbaik.
Sebelum ini dalam Anugerah Golden Globe 2022 yang diadakan pada awal Januari lalu , Dune hanya berjaya memenangi satu anugerah sahaja iaitu Skoring Original Terbaik Dalam Filem.
Namun kejayaan Dune untuk menyapu kemenangan menerusi kategori bersifat teknikal di dalam BAFTA ini memang sudah dijangka.
Bagaimanapun anugerah Filem Terbaik dan Pengarah sekali lagi menjadi milik The Power Of Dog dan Jane Campion.
Turut mengulang kejayaan yang sama adalah Will Smith menerusi kategori Aktor Utama untuk filem King Richard, namun kemenangan Joanna Scanlan (filem After Love) sebagai Aktres Utama benar-benar memeranjatkan.
Selain The Power of Dog, CODA and West Side Story adalah antara filem yang berjaya memenangi lebih daripada satu anugerah. Antara yang menarik adalah kemenangan Drive My Car Sebagai Filem Bukan Dalam Bahasa Inggeris dan Encanto untuk Filem Animasi.
