Borussia Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke admits the club could do little to prevent Erling Haaland from joining Manchester City.

Haaland's contract with Dortmund contains a release clause of around £63m which must be activated before April 30, 2022.

City are believed to want Haaland at the Etihad, and Watzke says Dortmund would be powerless to stop him from leaving.

"Erling Haaland? We know still nothing from player side," he said.

"But we know that we won't be able to keep up financially if Manchester City come.

"It already happened with Lewandowski to Bayern and Aubameyang to Arsenal."
