Everton winger Anthony Gordon is adamant they'll beat the drop.

They face Wolves at Goodison on Sunday in deep relegation trouble while off the field they can no longer work with former commercial partner Alisher Usmanov, who has had his assets frozen.

Gordon told the Daily Mail: "I'm not worried about relegation because I see day in, day out how good we can be. If we get certain things right, all the worry will disappear. The manager knows what is required. We need to stick together and show a bit of character to be honest.

"We had another discussion after the Spurs game about where we thought we went wrong. Character has to already be in you. It's about taking that little bit of responsibility yourself and holding each other accountable. If we do that, we'll be fine.

"I can totally understand why people might think we don't care but we give everything to football. If you look at it from that perspective, for a player not to care is a stupid way of thinking. It's a difficult period but tough times bring out the best in people."
