Kota Kinabalu: City Hall should set up service counters in Inanam town to facilitate the needs of residents, said former Kota Kinabalu MP Datuk Hiew King Cheu (pic).

He said many people from around Telipok, Manggatal, KKIP, Sepanggar, Kionsom, Kolombong, and Taman Khidmat area, do not like having to go down to the City Hall downtown office to carry out dealings and pay their dues, especially their summons.

He said he received numerous complaints on the hassle the people have to take to go down to the City Hall headquarters.

“It is troublesome and time consuming, especially with the heavy traffic jams.

“The situation is worse when there isn’t a single available parking space for their vehicles. Time and fuel are wasted just to pay a RM30 compound,” Hiew said.

He said having a service counter in Inanam township will provide the people with the convenience and in the same time lessen the traffic flow at the city centre.

He suggested that City Hall make use of the top floor of the Inanam Market or a single shop unit at a suitable location to house the City Hall service centre.
