KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysian badminton star Lee Zii Jia enters the semi-finals of the German Open after beating China’s Zhao Jun Peng 21-12, 21-18 today in the quarter-finals.
At the Westenergie Sporthalle in Muelheim An Der Ruhr today, Zii Jia took the first set in a swift 16 minutes.
The second set started of shaky for the world number seven, but he caught up and sealed the win to progress to the next round.
Zii Jia will either face Thai shuttler Kunlavut Vitidsam or Kenta Nishimoto of Japan in the semi-finals tomorrow.
