KOTA MARUDU: Tandek Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) chief Hendrus Anding urged the people to be confident with the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government led by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor to continue fighting for the rights of the State and its people.

Hendrus made the call when officiating Tandek PBS Annual General Meeting recently.

He congratulated PBS president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili, who is also Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department responsible for Sabah Sarawak Affairs (HESS), for his unceasing efforts to fight for the rights of Sabah people, as enshrined under the 1963 Malaysia Agreement (MA63) at the Federal Government level.

Hendrus, who is also Agriculture and Fisheries Assistant Minister, said land use by companies from the peninsula must be reviewed especially on the duration of the agreement.

“Priority should be given to Sabahans to hold positions such as Managing Director (MD), Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and other top positions in the administration,” he said.

“The provision of allocation grants for the measurement of customary and private lands in Sabah must continue to be implemented so that more lands in the state can be measured and land grants issued to landowners,” he said.

Hendrus said PBS members should be involved with the 3P sector, namely agriculture, livestock and fisheries, as the government is in the process of empowering these three sectors.

He said, the 3P sector can provide a lucrative income to the people and therefore, the opportunities available should be fully utilised for their common good.
