Kota Kinabalu: The downward trend continues as Sabah’s caseload fell below the 400 mark with a new all-time low of 339.

Sabah’s Covid-19 Spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said it was also the first time that no districts recorded a three-digit figure since Feb 4. He added that sporadic infections have also decreased slightly, but still remained quite high at 59.88 per cent.

“Overall, the caseload indicates stabilisation with a few districts recording a favorable decrease. This includes Kota Kinabalu (-39), Putatan (-19), Tuaran (-18) and Penampang (-15).

“Districts that recorded an increase are Lahad Datu (+12) and Ranau (+11). 15 districts recorded double-digit figures while Semporna, Kunak and Nabawan did not record any new cases,” he said in a statement, Sunday.

He said Kota Kinabalu continued to top the list with 65 cases, followed by Tuaran (37), Papar (27), Penampang (20), Keningau (20), Tawau (20) and Ranau (16). No deaths and new clusters were recorded.

“Four clusters were declared closed, namely the Jalan Pintas Sembulan Cluster (Kota Kinabalu), Sutera 2 Cluster (Kota Kinabalu), Giram Cluster (Kunak) and Kemburongoh 2 Cluster (Ranau).

“With these clusters closed, Sabah is left with 14 active clusters to date,” Masidi said.

He said the majority of cases are mild with 326 out of 339 cases being category one and two infections.

“Two cases are in category three, seven in category four and four in category five,” he added.

Some 880 Covid-19 patients have been discharged from the hospital while 576 patients are currently receiving treatment at hospitals, low risk quarantine and treatment centres (PKRCs), prisons/temporary detention centres and private facilities.

On Sabah’s immunisation programme, Masidi said 6,473 individuals were vaccinated on Mar 19, of which 4,525 were adults while 121 were teenagers and 1,650 were children.

As of Mar 19, he said a total of 2,405,254 individuals have completed both doses, of which 76.90 per cent were adults, while 2,551,971 have gotten their first dose, of which 78.45 per cent were adults.

Masidi added that a total of 332,251 teenagers have received their first dose, while 316,290 have completed both doses, which is 74.21 per cent of the teenage population. A total of 88,447 children have received their first dose.
