Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson hailed the manner of their 2-0 win at Brighton.
The Reds secured another vital three points at the Amex Stadium to keep up the pressure on league leaders Manchester City thanks to goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.
Henderson said: “It's always pleasing to come away from home and get three points. Brighton are a good footballing side.
“They're always dangerous, [they] have good technical players and obviously have troubled us at times over the last couple of years.
“It was a big game for us today, and I felt as if we delivered. It was a professional performance. It's three points on the road, which we're delighted with.
“You always want a second goal and you always want that to kill the game off a little bit. Thankfully we managed to do that, we had a few more half-chances to score, especially on the counter.
“Overall, I think we'll be very pleased with that performance, to be honest. We know we have to work and we know we have to improve all the time to get better with the teams that are at the top of the table around us.
“We have to push each other and drive each other on."
