THE State Assembly on Monday witnessed a heated debate between two former Chief Ministers about the Philippine claim to Sabah which was challenged in Spain.
Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee, a Nominated Assemblyman, inquired what role Sabah played in challenging the claim in the Spanish Court during Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal’s tenure as Chief Minister.
Shafie, who is Senallang Assemblyman, on the other hand, maintained that the Federal Government, not the State Government, has the jurisdiction.
