Juhar says Sabah to keep pursuing revenue claims under MA63

Kota Kinabalu: Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin said the State Government will continue to pursue revenue claims through negotiations over the Malaysia Agreement 1963 terms.

“Recently, negotiations through the Joint Consultative Committee to Review Special Grants to Sabah under Article 112D of the Federal Constitution have borne fruit where the State Government will receive a new grant payment rate starting this year,” he said in his policy speech at the opening of the third session of the 16th State Legislative Assembly, here, Wednesday.

“I would like to express my deepest congratulations and thanks to the State Government working team for their efforts and determination in fighting for the rights of the State.

“I hope the people will continue to support the State Government's efforts to enhance the State's revenue so that the implementation of various development agendas can be intensified for the interest and wellbeing of the people.”
