Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has firmly denied speculation linking him to the assistant manager's job at the club.

The Red Devils are in the process of choosing their next permanent manager, with Ajax's Erik ten Hag and PSG's Mauricio Pochettino the frontrunners.

A recent report from Stretty News linked Ferdinand to the assistant manager's job, with the report stating the club wants an ex-player to assist the next boss.

Quoting a tweet that shared the report, Ferdinand wrote on Twitter: "Who's feeding you this?! Put myself forward yanoooooo," accompanied by two cry-laughing emojis.

The ex-defender is thought to be happy with his current circumstances, as he has an extremely popular YouTube channel and other media engagements.
