Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is making no excuses for their abysmal showing against Crystal Palace.

Touted to finish in the top four of the Premier League, the Gunners took a step backwards, losing 3-0 away from home on Monday.

Palace were outstanding throughout the contest at Selhurst Park, with Arsenal never looking like getting back in the game.

Speaking post-game, Arteta stated about squad depth to reporters: "It's what we have. We lost Kieran [Tierney], we lost Thomas [Partey] now and that's it.

"With the players that we have we will try like we've been trying since the start of the season.

"We've never had a big squad. We can't find any excuses and we have to look at ourselves and again myself, I repeat because it wasn't good enough."
