SHAH ALAM - Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) was denied registration as a political party as it was seen as a threat to national security.

After over a decade, in 2008, the home ministry approved their registration as a political party. They are known to work for urban and rural poor and have a strong support from the plantation workers.

They have fought on minimum wages, workers unions, privatisation of health care, affordable homes, and to end corruption.

Sinar Daily Politically Frank caught up with PSM's youth wing secretary Gandipan Nantha Gopalan on racism in Malaysia and the people behind it.
