Arsenal legend Kenny Sansom believes manager Mikel Arteta should play Nuno Tavares at left back.

The youngster has struggled when called on to deputize for Kieran Tierney this season.

He was hauled off at half-time against Crystal Palace in a 3-0 loss on Monday.

Sansom tweeted: "Tierney being injured is bad for Arsenal.

"They'll have to do something about it, they can't be poor again. I don't know about [Granit] Xhaka or [Bukayo] Saka at left-back.

"I'd keep Tavares in and help him to get some confidence to play well. We need Saka to attack really, that's his best position."
