Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could look to his academy to replace Kieran Tierney.

The Scotland left-back will miss the remainder of this season after injuring his knee, with surgery planned in the coming weeks.

Nuno Tavares, filling in for Tierney, was dragged at half-time of Monday's 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace

The Mirrorsays Arteta could throw young defender Lino Sousa in at the deep end for Saturday's home clash with Brighton.

17-year-old Sousa, who has represented England at U18 and U23 levels, joined Arsenal from West Bromwich Albion in January.

Sousa already has two goals in three appearances for Arsenal's under-23s in Premier League 2.
