Ajax coach Erik ten Hag has requested Manchester United not contact him 48 hours before the remaining four games of the season.

The Dutchman will replace interim boss Ralf Rangnick and succeed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as permanent Red Devils manager in the summer, having signed a £9million-a-year deal until 2025 earlier this month.

It will bring to an end the 52-year-old's four-and-half-year spell with Dutch giants Ajax, who are favourites to claim back-to-back Eredivisie titles for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

ESPN says Ten Hag has asked United chiefs to leave him alone from two days before all of the four Dutch league fixtures the 35-times winners have remaining this term.

The report adds Ten Hag made the request was when negotiations were taking place during the March international break for him to become the new United boss.

Ajax would seal a third Eredivisie crown of the ten Hag era should they maintain their current position at the top of the table.
