He said Liow voluntarily surrendered himself to police at Bukit Aman around 11am today and will be taken to the Shah Alam court tomorrow to face 26 charges.

In a statement, he added the charges are under Section 4(1)(a) of the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act (AMLATFA) 2001.

This comes after almost a year of escaping the authorities.

The 34-year-old was wanted by police over alleged involvement in organised crime including fraud and money laundering.

It was reported that over a year ago, police had hauled up 68 people believed to be part of Liow’s gang.

They also seized 16 luxury vehicles, including a Rolls Royce, as well as foreign currency totalling over RM7 million through 70 raids.
