Didier Drogba lost a controversial bid to become president of the Ivory Coast Football Federation.
The Chelsea legend was eliminated after the first round of voting at Saturday's elective congress.
Drobga, who played over 100 times for Ivory Coast, polled only 21 votes in a three-way race.
Yacine Idriss Diallo (59) and Sory Diabate (50) polled more than double his tally
Despite receiving public support, Drogba was not favoured amongst the Ivorian football community, per ESPN.
Drogba attempted to stand for the presidency last year but the 44-year-old did not receive enough support for his bid.
FIFA stepped in and dissolved the Ivorian federation, paving the way for Drobga to stand.
