Newcastle U23 coach Elliott Dickman admits new contract decisions are now set to be made.
Decisions on the futures of players such as winger Thomas Allan, defender Ryan Barrett and midfielder Jack Young are all awaited. Allan made his first-team debut under Steve Bruce in the FA Cup at Rochdale but spent part of this season on loan at Greenock Morton before returning to Tyneside. And Young is currently on loan at Wycombe.
Dickman is working closely with Academy chief Steve Harper. He said this week: "We're getting to the point where decisions are being made and once those decisions are made I'm sure everyone will be made aware of that.
"But all the players and myself can do is concentrate on getting better and improving at whatever that may be.
"It could be the technical, tactical, physical or psychological thing. From our point of view, we've just got to make sure the players keep improving on a daily basis and take that improvement to go and play in the games."
