Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s Covid-19 Spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun reminded the public to be vigilant with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) compliance at shopping malls and Ramadan bazaars with sporadic infections remaining high in Sabah.
He said of the 60 cases recorded in the State on Sunday, 57 per cent were sporadic infections while 26.7 per cent were close contacts.
“This statistic is a reminder that risk of transmission in congested public places is still high,” he said in a statement, Sunday, adding that no deaths or new clusters were identified.
He said Kota Kinabalu was the only district that recorded double digit figures with 26 cases, followed by Putatan (6), Penampang (4), Keningau (4) and Papar (3).
“A total of 15 districts recorded single-digit cases, of which 10 recorded one to two cases only. 11 districts did not record any new cases in the previous 24 hours,” he added.
Overall, he said 10 districts recorded a decrease in cases while eight recorded an increase and nine districts retained the same figures as the day before.
Masidi said the majority of cases were mild, with 58 out of 60 being category one and two infections while there was one patient each in category three and five. There were no category four infections.
