
TAWAU: A 39-year-old man claimed trial in the High Court here, Thursday, to trafficking 4,192.3gm of syabu.
Mohamad Faujay Ahmad made the plea before High Court Judge Dr Lim Hock Leng, after the charge was read to the former.
Mohamad is accused of trafficking the drug at 12.30pm on April 18, 2021 at a room of a house in Kg Inderasabah Jalan Apas, here.
The offence, under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, carries the death sentence or life imprisonment and whipping of at least 15 strokes on conviction.
The court set Feb 6-10 next year for hearing the case.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Hurman Husain appeared for the prosecution while Mohamad was not represented.
