Newcastle United have held talks with Rangers youngster Alex Lowry.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder has rejected Rangers initial contract offers.
Football InsidersaysLowry's agent met Toon head of recruitment Steve Nickson in a hotel prior to the clash against Wolves earlier this month.
Lowry's current deal expires next year and Rangers want to extend his stay until 2024.
