Daily Covid-19 cases dip to lowest since Feb 5 at 10,002

KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia’s Covid-19 caseload of 10,002 as of midnight is the lowest since February 5 (9,117 infections), bringing the cumulative total to 4,256,469. 

According to CovidNow data, the country has another 28 deaths, of which seven are classified as brought in dead. 

The Klang Valley continues to log the bulk of new cases with Selangor having 5,791 and Kuala Lumpur 481 infections.

This is followed by Negri Sembilan (586), Penang (414), Perak (403), Johor (489), Kedah (338), Sarawak (328), Pahang (306), Terengganu (238), Melaka (212), Kelantan (190), Sabah (140), Putrajaya (46), and 20 each in Perlis and Labuan.

The country did not have any new clusters.

Currently, active cases stand at 179,619, of which 175,339 are in home quarantine, 3,622 hospitalised and 422 in low-risk treatment and quarantine centres. Some 140 patients are with ventilator aid while 96 are under intensive care.

Meanwhile, ICU bed usage in Kuala Lumpur (60%) and Perlis (55%) exceeded 50%. – The Vibes, April 5, 2022
