Kota Kinabalu: The carriageway at Jalan Lintas Plaza will be temporarily diverted, effective 9.30am today (Wednesday), to facilitate the opening of the U-turn flyover.
The Public Works Department, in a statement Tuesday, said only the routes from Luyang Health Clinic to Inanam and from Inanam to Lintas are affected.
All road users are advised to take alternative routes and strictly follow the traffic signs erected on site.
Those coming from the Heritage direction towards the Lintas Plaza/Inanam/Lintas Square direction are advised to take the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA)-Lido route before taking the U-turn flyover towards the respective destination.
While those coming from the Inanam direction towards the Lintas Plaza/Lintas Square direction are advised to take the KKIA-Lido route before taking the U-turn flyover towards the respective destination.
Another alternative is the Property Park traffic lights which has two phases; the first phase is City Mall to KKIA and vice versa. The second phase is from Lintas Jaya to KKIA.
Those from City Mall or Kota Kinabalu who want to head to Lintas Plaza have two options – through the U-shaped flyover of Taman Milik or they can also go straight to the U-turn under the Lido flyover to make a turn to Lintas Plaza.
Those from the direction of KKIA who want to go to Lintas Jaya can just go straight and turn left, while those who want to go to Heritage have to make a U-turn under the City Mall traffic light flyover.
In addition, those from Heritage also have two options. The first is through the Taman Milik U –shaped flyover on the left, while the second is a straight road and make a turn at the U-turn under the Lido flyover up to Lintas Plaza.
The road to Taman Milik will be closed. With that, the residents in the park have to drive up to the Heritage traffic light, Klinik Luyang to make a detour on the Taman Milik U-turn flyover to Lintas Plaza or City Mall.
They can drive straight to the left at the traffic light to head towards the Lido.
