
SHAH ALAM - Political activist Haris Ibrahim has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.
In a brief Facebook post yesterday, Haris said his condition is terminal with doctors informing him that he might not survive for more than a year.
"Twelve days ago, I was diagnosed with lung cancer. Stage 4. How much time? More than 3 months, less than a year,'' he wrote on his Facebook.
Despite his condition, Haris, In an effort to portray the people's struggle for a better Malaysia, urge Malaysians to send in pictures of themselves or him attending protests or rallies in the last 15 years.
"A few of us would like to try and do something: a pictorial of our struggle over the last 15 years to take this nation back for the rakyat.
"If you have any photos of you, I and others in protests, rallies, etc, share it with us with the following detail. 1. Your name. 2 the event we were at. Any short message you want to send,'' he said.
"I hope you understand that I tire easily these days. Hence, for now, I don't take calls or meet. God bless." he added.
Haris is well known for kick-starting the political movement of Asalkan Bukan Umno or ABU and has been a vocal voice in fighting for Sarawak and Sabah to be recognised as equal partners along with Peninsular Malaysia, among other contrbutions.
