On-loan to the end of the season from Wolves, Traore is expected to be sent back to Molineux by Barca this summer.
Football Insider reports Traore isn't set to remain with Wolves, however.
Instead, a move north to Everton could be on for the Spain international.
Everton's new sports director Kevin Thelwell signed Traore when in charge of Wolves and is keen on a reunion.
Barca have a €30m permanent option for Traore, but their financial problems will mean passing on the deal this summer.
