Kota Kinabalu: Sabah hit a new all-time low with 63 cases reported on Saturday, the lowest figure recorded since May 17 last year, said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
“Taking into account the rise and fall of cases in all Sabah districts, the overall Covid-19 situation is stable and under control,” he said in a statement, Saturday.
Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 12 cases, followed by Penampang (7), Putatan (7), Sandakan (6), Papar (5) and Tuaran (5).
“A total of 12 districts recorded a decrease in new infections, while nine districts recorded an increase. 14 districts recorded single-digit cases, of which 11 only recorded between one and five cases.
“Tambunan, Beluran, Telupid, Ranau, Kinabatangan, Kunak, Nabawan, Sipitang, Pitas, Tenom, Tongod and
Kalabakan did not record any new cases,” he said.
He added that 60 per cent of the cases were sporadic, while nine per cent were close contacts.
One death was recorded in Kota Kinabalu, while no new clusters were identified.
Masidi said the majority of cases were mild, with 57 out of 63 being category one and two infections, while two patients were in category four and four in category five. There are no category three infections.
