Sabah’s cases increase to 63

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s caseload continued to rise to 63 on Friday from 56 the day earlier, marking an upward trend in the last four days.

Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said 65.08 per cent of cases were sporadic infections.

“Kota Kinabalu remained at the top of the list with 24 cases, of which 18 were sporadic. Penampang also recorded a double-digit figure with 12 cases.

“Districts recording more than two cases include Sipitang (7), Papar (5), Sandakan (5), Lahad Datu (3) and Tuaran (3),” he said in a statement, Friday, adding that no new deaths or clusters were identified.

He said 17 out of 27 districts in Sabah did not record any new infections.

Masidi said 61 out of 63 cases were category one and two infections, while two were in category three. No cases were recorded in category four and five.

On Sabah’s immunisation programme, 999 individuals took their vaccines on May 19, of which 310 were adults, 67 teenagers and 622 children.
