Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has denied reports he told TV cameras "I'm not finished" after scoring in their 3-0 win over Brentford.

Ronaldo appeared to utter the three-word phrase as he made his way towards the tunnel following United's easy victory on Monday night.

Some fans believed it was a hint that he may remain at the club next season amid reports linking him away from the Red Devils following the arrival of new boss Erik ten Hag.

But Ronaldo rubbished claims he said those three words in a surprise intervention on Instagram. The 37-year-old Portuguese star left a comment on a fan account that shared the quote, writing: "I didn't say that."

It backed up the claims he instead said "come on, finish" to the camera operator, having had the camera fixed on him throughout the lap of honour.
