Kota Kinabalu: New daily Covid-19 cases in Kota Kinabalu increased by 100 per cent, recording 32 cases on Tuesday from 16 the day earlier, causing Sabah’s overall caseload to rise to 52, said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

“Except for Kota Kinabalu, the Covid-19 situation in other districts is under control. Seven districts recorded a decrease compared to six that recorded a rise,” he said in a statement, Tuesday.

He said 16 districts did not record any new infections, while five districts recorded only one case, namely Keningau, Kota Marudu, Kudat, Semporna and Tawau.

He added that 65.38 per cent of cases were sporadic, while no deaths or new clusters were identified.

Masidi said 50 out of 52 cases were category one and two infections, while one case was each recorded in category three and five.

On Sabah’s immunisation programme, 1,590 individuals took their vaccines on May 23, of which 320 were adults, 68 teenagers and 1,202 children.
