Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s cases decreased by 44 per cent, from 48 on Monday to 27 on Tuesday, showing signs of recovery after the Aidilfitri peak, said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

“Whether this (downward) trend continues will depend on the community’s attitude when celebrating the Kaamatan festivity which will peak by the end of May,” he said in a statement, Tuesday, adding that no deaths or new clusters were identified.

He added that all 27 cases were category one and two infections, of which 62.96 per cent were sporadic.

Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 16 cases, followed by Papar (2), Putatan (2), Kota Marudu (1) and Kuala Penyu (1).

“Eight districts recorded a decrease, including Kota Kinabalu (-7), Sandakan (-6), Penampang (-6) and Tuaran (-4). Six districts recorded a marginal increase of one case.

“A total of 17 out of 27 districts in Sabah did not record any new cases in the previous 24 hours,” he said.

On Sabah’s immunisation programme, a total of 1,723 individuals took their vaccines, of which 465 were adults, 47 were teenagers and 1,211 were children.
