SANDAKAN: Efforts to inculcate mother tongue and make it a culture among the younger generation should be more actively carried out as a measure to protect the mother tongue from extinction.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili said he would support any such effort to enable the mother tongue to be dignified.
“I fully support efforts and ideas that enable the mother tongue to be protected. I hope associations and communities at the district and village levels will also support this effort.
