Kota Kinabalu: History was created in Sabah today with the official launch of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) as a new platform to unite local political parties and the people of Sabah.
GRS consists of five parties, namely Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Sabah, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star), Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and the United Sabah National Organisation (Usno).
Chief Minister and GRS Chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, who launched GRS at the Sabah International Convention Centre, here, said the coalition is a local political alignment based on a local formula for uniting the people to face a new political landscape in the country.
“As GRS is built on the people's mandate, the registration of GRS as an official political entity on March 11, 2022 is also a manifestation of the people's aspirations," he said.
"The grassroots want us to unite in a local platform to boost the value and meaning of our struggles in the local and national political arena."
