Kota Kinabalu: Sports plays an important part in producing healthy, active and productive human capital that will inevitably lead to social well-being and economic development of the country.
Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Haji Yakub Khan said this in his speech read by the Ministry’s liaison secretary, Romeo Ansow, during the 39th SK Darau Track and Field Championship recently.
”Sports involvement is very important in the optimisation of the physical fitness of students which is in line with the phrase ‘A healthy mind lives in a healthy body,” he said.
Romeo praised the organising committee on their hard work and commitment that ensured the success of the event.
Also present were school principal Ahmad Roshni Mohd Khalid and head of the Parents and Teacher association, Azrul Puddin.
