
Kota Kinabalu: There is a need for libraries to be aware of rapid changes in the digital age and innovate its services to overcome new challenges, in efforts to inculcate a reading culture in the community, said State Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Yakub Khan.
“In the context of reading, libraries hold an important role especially in providing services that is more efficient and effective, towards realising the objective of creating a literate and knowledgeable society.
“Libraries should be sensitive to changes and ongoing challenges,” he said in his speech when officiating the State-level ‘Let’s Read Together for 10 Minutes’ nationwide programme at the State Library, here, Thursday.
