Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded 76 cases on Friday, a marginal increase from 75 the day earlier, while no deaths or new clusters were identified.
Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said three urban districts recorded double-digit figures, namely Kota Kinabalu with 21, Penampang (17) and Putatan (10).
“Sporadic infections are the main cause of transmission among new patients within these three districts,” he said in a statement, Friday.
He said nine districts recorded a decrease compared to six that recorded an increase.
“A few districts recorded a relatively large increase, including Penampang (+13), Sandakan (+8) and Putatan (+6).
“A total of 13 districts did not record any new cases in the previous 24 hours, while 11 districts recorded single-digit cases,” he added.
He said 74 out of 76 cases were category one and two infections, while one case was each recorded in category three and four.
On Sabah’s immunisation programme, 1,611 individuals took their vaccines on May 26, of which 914 were adults, 40 teenagers and 657 children.
