Manchester United were keen to acknowledge past academy coaches before Wednesday's FA Youth Cup final triumph against Nottingham Forest.

United won 3-1 at Old Trafford in front of over 67,000 fans.

The Daily Mail says former players and coaches Nicky Butt, Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna were invited to Old Trafford as guests in a nod to the work the trio carried out at the academy.

McKenna left this season to take charge of Ipswich Town, while Carrick held talks last week about the Lincoln City job.
