KENINGAU: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said he will submit several proposals to the Government to tackle the clean water supply problem in the State.
He said comprehensive proposals are required to overcome the water crisis in Sabah.
“If there are no structured proposals, the water problem will continue and it will bring greater disaster to the people,” he told reporters after attending the Umno Keningau Division Aidilfitri Open House with USIA President Datuk Sairin Karno at the Sabah Handicraft Centre hall, here.
Bung, who is also State Works Minister, said the proposed measures would include upgrading damaged water plants and restoring rivers that had dried up and were no longer functioning.
“There are 22 plants in the State that are not functioning due to rivers having water problems. Through these proposals, we will find other methods to overcome the water crisis in the State,” he said.
Also present at the event were Works Assistant Minister Datuk Robert Tawik @ Nordin, Liawan Assemblyman Datuk Annuar Ayub, Keningau Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) components leaders and local community leaders.
