
Kota Kinabalu: A 37-year-old jobless man was charged with causing hurt to his mother.
Nicholos Joseph Green appeared before Court Registrar Rita Kunsoi to face the charge against him on Friday.
However, no plea was taken from Nicholos after the charge was read to him.
Nicholos is accused of causing injury to his mother, Natasha Kimberly Apin who suffered bruises on her left palm, left thigh and both ears, at 1.30pm on April 28 this year at a house in Kg Imbahan Ketiau, Putatan.
The offence, under Section 323 of the Penal Code and read together with Section 326A of the same Code, provides and imprisonment for up to two years, on conviction.
The court set June 15 for mention Nicholos’ case to record his plea and released on bail of RM1,500 in two local sureties pending the date.
Nicholos was also charged with taking drugs and for the case, there was no plea recorded.
For the drug case, Nicholos was offered bail of RM1,000 and the sureties could be the same with his first case.
The court set July 19 for e-review pending the chemist’s report.
In another case, a 40-year-old unemployed was charged with threatening to cause injury to his parents.
However, no plea was recorded from Abdul Khalid Wajib after the charge was read to him.
Abdul Kahlid allegedly threatened to cause hurt to his parents namely, Wajib Kurais, 72, and Jumatiah Aminulla, 70, that he will stab them with a knife.
The offence allegedly took place at 7.30am on June 6 this year at a house in Telipok Settlement Scheme at Phase 2 in Jalan Lowo Monduo, Telipok.
His case would be mentioned on July 14 this year for plea and the court offered bail Abdul Kahlid of RM1,500 in two local sureties. Inspector Navind Kumar Vijayan appeared for the prosecution.
